The route leaves La Pobla de Segur and follows the N-260 north through the Collegats gorge. It passes Gerri de la Sal and reaches Sort, and from there the C-13 keeps following the river upstream through Rialp to Llavorsí.
The ride links the Pallars Jussà with the Pallars Sobirà through the municipalities of La Pobla de Segur, Baix Pallars, Soriguera, Sort, Rialp and Llavorsí. The whole way follows the Noguera Pallaresa, known for its white water, between rock walls and ever narrower valleys. What makes it special is the gorge scenery and a layout of fast, open bends, unlike the passes in the area.
It is about 42 km and around three quarters of an hour without stops, with around 45 bends and no hairpins. Altitude ranges from about 525 m to about 825 m. In summer there is plenty of tourist traffic and river-activity vans around Sort and Llavorsí: only overtake with clear visibility. The fast bends invite speed; there are speed checks in the area.
