The route leaves Torrox and climbs on the A-7207 to Cómpeta, one of the hill villages of the Axarquía. From there it links to Frigiliana on the MA-5105 and drops down to Nerja. A short stretch of about 6 km uses the A-7 motorway. It is a ride about villages rather than distance, best taken slowly with plenty of stops.
The whole route stays within La Axarquía, crossing the municipalities of Torrox, Cómpeta, Frigiliana and Nerja. The landscape is hillsides of vines, almond and fruit trees, and white villages clinging to the sierra, with the Mediterranean in view most of the time. The roads are narrow and very twisty, with tight bends and changes in gradient, and the village streets are tight.
It is about 48 km, but the route engine estimates almost two hours without stops, because much of it is slow going. Altitude ranges from around 25 m to about 650 m. Expect lots of visitors in the villages, especially in summer, and gravel or farm vehicles on the minor roads.
