The A-366 leaves Ronda, the town of the Tajo gorge, and heads east over the hills to El Burgo. From there it continues through Yunquera and ends in Alozaina. It is a single-road route linking the Serranía de Ronda with the Sierra de las Nieves, and a good way to leave Ronda for inland Málaga away from the coast.
The ride crosses the municipalities of Ronda, El Burgo, Yunquera and Alozaina. The first section, between Ronda and El Burgo, is the most mountainous: the road climbs and winds through limestone ridges, pine woods and scrub, with few houses in sight. Later, in the Sierra de las Nieves area, the landscape opens out towards white villages surrounded by olive and almond trees, with gentler bends.
It is about 46 km and around an hour and twenty minutes without stops. Altitude ranges from about 380 m to just over 1,050 m. There are few services on the mountain section, so set off with enough fuel. Watch for livestock, gravel and cyclists on the bends, and slow down through El Burgo and Yunquera.
