The route leaves Vic and takes the C-153 east, through Roda de Ter and Tavèrnoles, climbing onto the Collsacabra plateau via L'Esquirol. It crosses the upland to the Coll de Condreu and drops into the Garrotxa, where it joins the C-152 into Olot.
The ride links Osona, La Selva and the Garrotxa through municipalities such as L'Esquirol, Rupit i Pruit, Susqueda, la Vall d'en Bas and Les Preses. The Collsacabra is a plateau of meadows and farmhouses ringed by cliffs, and the descent from the Coll de Condreu opens onto the green valleys of the Garrotxa, with the volcanic area of Olot at the end. What makes it special is the contrast between the plain, the plateau and the valleys beyond.
It is about 63 km and around two hours without stops, with around 190 bends and a couple of hairpins. Altitude ranges from about 430 m to just over 1,000 m. At weekends there is a fair amount of traffic towards the Collsacabra and Olot: only overtake with clear visibility. In winter the plateau is cold and there may be fog or ice early in the day, and there are speed checks in the area.
