The route leaves Seva, on the edge of the Plana de Vic, and takes the BV-5301 towards El Brull. From there the road climbs to the Collformic, the pass between the two sides of the massif, and drops through the village of Montseny to Sant Esteve de Palautordera. It is a short crossing that works in either direction.
The ride links Osona with the Vallès Oriental through the municipalities of Seva, El Brull, Montseny and Sant Esteve de Palautordera, inside the Montseny Natural Park. The Osona side is more open, with meadows and fields; beyond the pass the road enters woods of holm oak, oak and beech and descends a narrow valley. What makes it special is the rhythm: linked bends with hardly a straight from start to finish.
It is about 31 km and just under an hour without stops, with around 175 bends and no hairpins. Altitude ranges from about 240 m to about 1,145 m at the Collformic. At weekends there is heavy traffic of day-trippers, motorcycles and cyclists: only overtake with clear visibility and plenty of room. On the shady side the surface can be damp or covered in leaves, and there are speed checks in the area.
