The route leaves Aljezur, in the Algarve, and heads north on the EN 120 to Odeceixe, where it crosses into the Alentejo. From there it moves closer to the coast on local roads to Zambujeira do Mar and Almograve and ends in Vila Nova de Milfontes, at the mouth of the river Mira.
It runs through the Parque Natural do Sudoeste Alentejano e Costa Vicentina: cliffs above the Atlantic, beaches, open fields and white villages, with the sea coming in and out of view on the left. It crosses the municipalities of Aljezur and Odemira.
It is about 69 km and almost two hours without stops, with few bends: a scenic ride rather than a twisty one. Altitude ranges from almost sea level to about 210 m. The roads into the coastal villages are narrow.
