A short ride along the Huelva coast linking Mazagón and Matalascañas on the A-494, a road running parallel to the shoreline. It starts in the Comarca Metropolitana de Huelva, in the municipality of Moguer, and enters El Condado through the municipality of Almonte to reach Matalascañas, on the edge of the Doñana protected area.
The landscape is pine woods, scrub and dunes, with the beach close by but mostly hidden behind the vegetation. The road is flat, with sweeping bends and long straights. The route ends near Doñana, a national park and one of the best-known natural areas in Spain; the road skirts it, but the interior of the park can only be visited on foot or on organised tours.
It covers about 31 km and under an hour without stops. Altitude ranges from about 20 m to about 55 m, with no significant climbs. It is a road for riding easy and enjoying the surroundings: wildlife may cross the road, and in summer there is heavy beach traffic. Also watch for wind-blown sand on the tarmac.
