The route leaves Antequera and heads south on the A-7075, the road linking the Antequera plain with the Montes de Málaga. It passes through Villanueva de la Concepción, at the foot of the Torcal massif, and ends in Almogía, overlooking the Guadalhorce valley. It is a single-road ride with no navigation headaches, easy to combine with other routes in the area or to use as a link between Antequera and the Málaga coast.
The highlight is the El Torcal landscape, known for its karst limestone formations, visible from the road on the upper section. From there the A-7075 loses height through bends, olive groves and dry farmland, moving from the Antequera comarca into the Valle del Guadalhorce. Access to the El Torcal site and its visitor area is a separate detour from the route; if you want to go up, it is worth leaving time to stop and walk for a while.
It covers about 36 km and roughly an hour of riding without stops. Altitude ranges from around 960 m at the top to under 200 m at the end, so conditions can change noticeably from one end to the other: it is often cooler up high, and there may be fog or wind. It is a mountain road with linked bends; watch for loose gravel on the tarmac, cyclists and farm vehicles.
