The loop starts and ends in Órgiva. It first follows the A-348 along the lower Alpujarra, through Torvizcón, Almegíjar, Cástaras and Lobras to Cádiar, with the Guadalfeo valley on one side and Sierra Nevada beyond.
From Cádiar it climbs the A-4130 to Bérchules and Juviles and reaches Trevélez, one of the highest villages in Spain. The way back drops along the A-4132 through Busquístar, Pórtugos and La Taha to Pampaneira, in the Poqueira gorge, and returns to Órgiva via Carataunas. The whole ride is in the Alpujarra Granadina, at the foot of Sierra Nevada.
It is about 102 km and more than three and a half hours without stops, with over 550 bends and a dozen hairpins: one of the twistiest routes in the gallery. Altitude ranges from about 315 m to 1,543 m. The village streets are narrow and there are many visitors in season.
