The route leaves Montblanc, in the Conca de Barberà, and uses the N-240 towards L'Espluga de Francolí. From there it links local roads (T-700, TV-7004 and TV-7041) through the Poblet area, Vallclara and Vilanova de Prades to Prades, and drops on the TV-7005 and T-704 through Capafonts and Mont-ral to Alcover, with a final stretch of the N-240a.
The ride crosses the Conca de Barberà, the Baix Camp and the Alt Camp through municipalities such as Montblanc, L'Espluga de Francolí, Vimbodí i Poblet, Prades, Capafonts, Mont-ral and Alcover. The road climbs through pine and holm oak woods to the Prades upland, known as the red town for the colour of its stone, and descends narrow valleys towards the Camp de Tarragona. What makes it special is the variety: vineyard plains, mountain forest and a descent of linked bends.
It is about 62 km and around an hour and three quarters without stops, with around 240 bends and six hairpins. Altitude ranges from about 250 m to just over 1,000 m. The mountain roads are narrow in places with blind bends; at weekends there are cyclists and walkers. In winter the higher section may be icy early in the day.
