The route leaves Simat de la Valldigna and takes the CV-675, which climbs the side of the range to Barx. From the village the road crosses the high ground and drops down to the plain of La Safor, finishing in Gandia. It is a short stretch that links easily with the coast or with the inland valleys.
The whole ride is in La Safor, through the municipalities of Simat de la Valldigna, Barx and Gandia. Simat is known for the monastery of Santa Maria de la Valldigna, and Barx sits on a mountain shelf at the foot of the Mondúber. The climb runs through pine woods and scrub, and on the way down the view opens out over the orange groves of La Safor and the sea. What makes it special is how much the landscape changes in so few kilometres.
It is about 22 km and a little under an hour without stops, with around 60 bends and seven hairpins. Altitude ranges from about 20 m to about 390 m. The hairpins are on the steeper sections up and down: go in slowly and expect cyclists, who use this road a lot. Traffic builds up near Gandia.
