Altitude profile270–741 m

The route leaves Buñol and passes Alborache and Macastre before taking the CV-425 towards Dos Aguas. From there the CV-428 crosses the Macizo del Caroig and descends into the Júcar gorge at Cortes de Pallás. The return towards Requena links several local roads (CV-580, CV-431 and CV-433) and ends with short stretches of the N-330 on the approach to Requena. It is a ride worth setting aside half a day for.

The ride runs through the municipalities of Buñol, Alborache, Macastre, Dos Aguas, Cortes de Pallás and Requena. It is a sparsely populated interior of scrub- and pine-covered ranges, where the road goes long stretches without passing through a village. The descent to the Júcar at Cortes de Pallás, with the river hemmed in between rock walls, is the most spectacular point, and the overall character is that of a long, remote and very twisty road.

It is about 100 km and around three hours without stops, with more than 400 linked bends. Altitude ranges from about 270 m to about 740 m. There are few services along the way, so set off with a full tank, water and plenty of time. Expect gravel, fallen rocks in the gorge sections and animals on the road. On the N-330 stretches, watch for lorries and faster traffic.
