The route leaves Xàbia and climbs on local roads towards El Poble Nou de Benitatxell, then drops down to Moraira. From there the CV-746 follows the coast to Calp. The ride combines the CV-740, CV-737, CV-743 and CV-746, and is a quiet alternative to the main road inland.
The whole ride stays in the Marina Alta, through the municipalities of Xàbia, Benitatxell, Teulada, Benissa and Calp. The scenery mixes cliffs, coves, vineyards and pine woods with scattered housing estates, and on the final stretch the view is dominated by the Penyal d'Ifac, the great rock that closes off the bay of Calp. There are bends, but the feel is more of a seaside cruise than a mountain road.
It is about 28 km and roughly an hour without stops, with little climbing: from almost sea level to about 160 m. There are many roundabouts, town crossings and turn-offs to coves and estates, with vehicles pulling out where visibility is limited. In summer traffic increases a lot, and there may be sand or gravel on the bends near the sea.
