The route leaves Ayora, in the Valle de Ayora, and takes the CV-590 east to climb into the Sierra de Enguera. It crosses the range via the hamlet of Navalón and then drops down to Enguera, at the head of the Canal de Navarrés. Part of the ride follows the CV-589.
The ride links the Valle de Ayora with the Canal de Navarrés through the municipalities of Ayora and Enguera, one of the largest in the province. Almost the whole way runs through the hills, among pine woods and scrub, far from any sizeable village; Navalón is no more than a hamlet in the middle of the upland. What makes it special is the solitude and the rhythm: many kilometres of linked bends with very little traffic.
It is about 60 km and around an hour and three quarters without stops, with around 160 bends and one hairpin. Altitude ranges from about 300 m to almost 1,100 m. It is an isolated road: there are no services in the hills and mobile coverage can drop out. There may be gravel, mud or animals on the road.
