The loop starts and ends in Tossa de Mar. It heads inland on the GI-681, crossing the coastal hills among cork oak and pine woods, to Llagostera.
From Llagostera the route takes about 6 km of the C-65 dual carriageway and continues on the C-253a towards Santa Cristina d'Aro and Sant Feliu de Guíxols. From there it returns to Tossa on the GI-682, clinging to the sea, with coves and viewpoints along the coast. The loop runs through La Selva, the Gironès and the Baix Empordà.
It is about 56 km and around an hour and twenty minutes without stops, with around 250 bends and a couple of hairpins. Altitude ranges from sea level to about 260 m. In summer and at weekends there is heavy traffic on the GI-682, with cars stopping at viewpoints and cyclists: only overtake with clear visibility. There are speed checks in the area.
