The route starts and finishes in Callosa d'en Sarrià. The CV-715 climbs through Bolulla to Tàrbena, perched on the mountainside, and on to the Coll de Rates, with views over the Marina Alta valleys and the sea beyond.
From the col it twists down to Parcent and follows the CV-750 to Xaló and Llíber among vines and almond trees. From there the loop heads towards the coast through Benissa and returns via Altea to Callosa d'en Sarrià. It crosses the Marina Baixa and the Marina Alta.
It is about 75 km and around two hours twenty minutes without stops, with some 265 bends and five hairpins. Altitude ranges from sea level to about 630 m. The Coll de Rates is a cycling classic: in winter and spring there are many cyclists, and the coastal section has more traffic.
