The loop starts and ends in Sant Celoni. It first climbs the BV-5114 through Fogars de Montclús to the Santa Fe area, then drops to Viladrau on the GIV-5201, the GI-543 and the BV-5119.
From Viladrau the GI-520 leads to Seva, and the BV-5301 crosses the massif via El Brull and the Collformic, dropping through the village of Montseny and returning to Sant Celoni on the BV-5303. The loop runs through the Vallès Oriental, La Selva and Osona, circling the Montseny Natural Park among holm oak, oak and beech woods.
It is about 91 km and almost three hours without stops, with almost 500 bends and eight hairpins. Altitude ranges from about 150 m to just over 1,300 m. At weekends there is heavy traffic of day-trippers, motorcycles and cyclists, and the surface can be damp or covered in leaves in the shade; there are speed checks in the area.
